So – here we go…. 1st blog entry … so my blog will be about what I am working on at that time –which could be anything from painting terra cotta pots, canvas painting, stripping paint from a window frame to create something from that, metal work, potting plants, putzing in my garden … & who knows what may come along oh & yea – I work out too so that may get thrown in there as well – & of course right off the bat I should have said all through the grace of God I am (as we all are) creative – & thank GOD each of us has our own creative vein – just get out there & do something – & then either try it again or do something else. Oh & sometimes I like to cook, so that may get thrown in there as well… so let’s begin & see what comes up!!
So my latest project is painting window frames – I found a bunch out in the trash on evening – quite awhile ago actually – & this other cute one we got at one of the recycle centers – so very cool – everything from doors to screws to who-knows-what but this one is a small old window frame w/ layers & layers & LAYERS (can I tell you LAYERS!!!!!) of paint … so I have started stripping it … & learning about stripping paint – man you have to be patient!!
Here’s my first go round….
So then the next time I got around to stripping the window frame, I did some reading on the internet & found a suggestion that said wrap the item in foil while you wait 4 – 24 hours… – so applied the stripping material, wrapped it up & in the meantime repotted a plant (one of my all time favorite plants – a lady palm) that was horribly root bound – & the pot had fallen & broken anyways, otherwise I probably would not have realized it was root bound – so after much searching I found a pot to repot it in (side note here – I don’t wear blue but LOVE blue pots, sapphire rings, other blue stuff & was searching all over for another blue pot – but ended up finding a very nice green pot (ON SALE!!) & just love it) so here it is reported – beautiful: (well dang it – I can’t find that photo – so instead let me show you my other painted pots that I created . . .
(back to the lady palm story) then of course did not want to throw this GORGEOUS pot away – so now it has become object d’art in my garden – I had to crack it in half w/ a screw driver & hammer – put one piece next to our water fall
a closer view …
& the other one on the other side of the garden …
ok – till next time!! … more stripping!! paint that is!! 🙂
UPDATE – here is my lady palm in the green pot – gorgeous isn’t she???
