I mentioned in my 1st post that I found some large frames out for trash pick-up that I picked up (this is where it all started, mind you) & they have been hanging around in my back yard for a LONG time (LONG TIME!!!) so finally decided to do something with them – I want to remove the old glaze & re-glaze them – remove a piece or 3 of the glass to “decorate” the inside & then of course repaint the whole thing. The neat thing about these frames is that they have been out for SO LONG & weren’t painted & re-re-repainted that all I have had to do was tap them on the ground to remove the old paint 😉
Here is the frame to begin with (well relatively – I had tapped some of the paint off already)
Then I started glazing the frame – & can I give a SHOUT OUT to Rebuilding Together & Shell for giving me the opportunity to learn how to do this? That is just a great great GREAT program – it is awesome to help your community with your community – you meet new people from all walks of life, you learn new skills – like glazing a window to JACK-HAMMERING (Yes IIIII jack-hammered … probably won’t do THAT again!) (ugh!) to applying stucco to an icky brick wall (I did not realize it was icky brick-at first I thought it was quite textural & cool – but who knew? I learned that too.. it was icky) & the stucco was …. quite an experience .. worked up some muscles w/ that! first the stirring of the mixture – & then it was a low wall – so you had to squat to apply … but ANYWAYS .. a GREAT program – if you haven’t been involved in that I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it – it is for ALL skill levels trust ME … if they can find stuff for me to do – & then they really really welcome the true handyman/carpenter/skilled laborer!!
So I started glazing the window frames – 1st window:
