Sooo – I met a couple of wonderful people thanks to another good friend of mine – Mike Coon – I met Ralph & Audrey Driscoll of Driscoll Antiques & Restoration – Mike had told me awhile back to go & visit w/ them and ask them about my window frame project – how to strip the wood – why this frame was framed in wood instead of glazing & what to do with it … so I finally got around to it – & they were so nice & helpful & can I just say interesting & informative as well??? I am SOOO excited about all they told me!!

So I picked up yet more stuff to strip the paint off – So after giving me all kinds of good information of how to go about stripping the frames I ran over to Helm paint & picked up some Peel Away & later on pasted on the thick stuff – & covered it w/ the sheet it came with – here are pictures of how the frame looked before the pastey stuff .. and with the pastey stuff:.

 So I can’t wait cuz after it’s all clean & dry – I’m bringing it back to Ralph & Audrey & they’ll show me how to apply a glaze – NOT POLYURETHANE!!  Actually it will be a set of glazes – of burnt siennas & burnt umbers – so excited!!

Later on in the day my honey & I went & got more sea glass – this all adds to the project!!

So it’s funny – cuz at one point I was going to strip the paint from this frame & then paint it funky colors – but the wood is looking so very cool – I want the wood to show through!! So maybe I’ll do that with the other frames – I guess it’s all a progression!!
